Women of Purpose
Hosted by the North Fulton Area Section of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), Inc., this signature event celebrated remarkable women who made significant contributions in Education, Economic Empowerment, Health Equity, and Social Justice—core of our mission.
In alignment with NCNW’s mission to lead, develop, and advocate for women of African descent, along with their families and communities, this inspiring gathering united leaders, change-makers, and supporters dedicated to promoting opportunity, equity, and social good. Participants experienced a joyful of connection, recognition, and celebration as we women who shaped and uplifted our communities.
Past "Women of Purpose" awardees and keynote speakers included Congresswoman Lucy McBath, Dr. Deborah Griffiths, Dr. Leyte Winfield, and Dr. Vickie Perdue Scott. Thank you for supporting our mission. We were honored to announce Janice L. Mathis, Esq. as the keynote speaker for the 2026 NFAS NC Women of Purpose event! A nationally respected attorney and civic leader, Mrs. Mathis served as the former VP of the Education Fund, General Counsel for Rainbow PUSH Coalition, and Executive Director & General of NCNW. She currently held the position of Director of the NCBCP Thomas W. Dortch Institute at Clark Atlanta University. She was a powerful voice for justice, leadership, and purpose.
